Ingemation Ingeniería carries out the preliminary tests of the control system developed for the cooling tower of the Naftan refinery in Belarus.
The control system, which uses state-of-the-art technology, will be responsible for the energy management of the tower, its control and supervision, as well as its auxiliary packages (chemical dosing, filtering, etc.).
The tests prior to the start-up of the control system that we have developed for the cooling tower of the Naftan refinery in Novopolotsk, Belarus, have already been carried out in March. The project, carried out in collaboration with Esindus, consists of the design and manufacture of the control system, which will be responsible for the management of all the devices related to the cooling tower of the refinery.
This tower will be made up of two cells; and among the tests carried out are: testing of the loops of the sensors and actuators installed in the field for correct connectivity with our system; testing of the water pumps and the fans of the cells. In addition, a complete pre-operation test of the system has been carried out as training for the operators, in which DCS communication has been demonstrated.
The system developed is fully redundant. In this way, the system will provide the tower with very high availability from the control point of view. Despite the possibility of remote control from the plant’s DCS, it can be controlled completely autonomously from a 12″ HMI screen.
